Aftercare 

Medical therapy brought to your doorstep.

All new clients to GRB Health are required to undergo a free face to face consultation prior to treatment. 

To support healing and maximize the effects of your Profhilo treatment, follow these key aftercare tips:

​

Immediate Aftercare (0-6 Hours Post-Treatment)

  • Avoid Touching or Rubbing: Do not touch or massage the treated area to prevent irritation or infection.

  • Sleep Position: Sleep on your back, face up, to avoid pressure on treated areas.

  • Makeup: Avoid applying makeup for at least 12 hours.

First 24 Hours Post-Treatment

  • Exercise & Alcohol: Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol, as these can increase bruising and swelling.

  • Heat Exposure: Avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, and sun exposure to prevent swelling.

 

First Few Days Post-Treatment

  • Cold Compress: Use a cold compress, if needed, to reduce redness and swelling (wrap ice in cloth).

  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and aid recovery.

  • Avoid Anti-inflammatory Medications: For two days before and after treatment, avoid medications like ibuprofen and aspirin, as well as supplements such as St. John’s Wort, fish oil, and vitamins A, B, or E to minimize bruising.

  • Gentle Skincare: Refrain from using products with retinoids or exfoliants for at least three days before and after treatment.

 

Physical Restrictions (Up to 5 Days)

  • Avoid Compression: Don’t wear helmets, goggles, or masks that press on the treated areas.

 

Post-Treatment Cosmetic Restrictions (Up to 3 Weeks)

  • Skip Cosmetic Procedures: Delay treatments such as microneedling, dermabrasion, radiofrequency, chemical peels, and lasers, which may interfere with results.

 

General Tips

  • Temperature Extremes: Avoid very hot or cold environments for 24 hours.

  • Treatment Bumps: Small bumps post-treatment are normal; avoid touching them as they usually subside within a few hours.

Tips for Best Results

  1. Hydrate: Drink water and use hydrating skincare leading up to treatment.

  2. Healthy Diet: Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins (C and E), and minerals to support collagen and skin repair.

  3. Avoid Certain Substances: Avoid alcohol, aspirin, fish oil, and vitamin E for a week before treatment to reduce bruising risk.

  4. Gentle Skincare: Avoid harsh exfoliants and retinoids several days before treatment.

  5. Sun Protection: Minimize sun exposure to support better results.

  6. Consultation: Discuss your goals and any personalized prep steps with your practitioner.

  7. Follow-Up Treatments: Plan for two treatments, spaced four weeks apart, for the best results.

 

With preparation and diligent aftercare, you’ll see gradual improvements in skin quality, hydration, and firmness over the following weeks.
