Service Description

Therapeutic massage is a deep form of soft tissue mobilisation. A sports massage can be applied in a sporting and non-sporting context. Therapeutic massage involves a wide range of techniques that include effleurage, kneading, wringing, hacking and trigger pointing. Therapeutic massage can be used for general relaxation of the muscular skeletal system as well as being directed towards any problem areas. It eases muscular tension, break down adhesion's, mobilise soft tissues and reduce pain, tightness, in turn improving a joints mobility, helping the body move better and recover from exercise faster. This accelerates healing of soft tissue injuries by encouraging the flow of blood carrying oxygen and nutrients, by treating the muscle tightness and inelasticity that can hinder blood flow. Therapeutic massage can also improve posture, helping to address the musculoskeletal impact of today’s sedentary and deskbound working practices. Therapeutic massage has also been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mental and physical relaxation and promote a greater sense of well-being.
