What is a "Turkey Neck"?

“Turkey neck” is a rather unglamorous term for wrinkled, sagging skin on the neck. A common side effect of aging. It occurs when your neck muscles (platysma) are overactive or clearly visible , causing the your skin loses its elasticity, or ability to stretch and stay tight, resulting in a "turkey neck" appearance

Aim of treatment.

The aim treatment is reduce the platysmal band appearance, that occur when you contract the platysma. By allowing the platysma muscles movement to be reduce, leading to a more relax and diminish the movement pattern, preventing development and appearance of a "turkey neck".

The botox injections are a simple and safe procedure, involving a small injection into the platysma muscle so that it can no longer cause the skin to crease or fold.

By treating this muscle area and reducing the strength of the platysma, improvements can be seen in the lateral cheek and marionette lines. Additional to a 15-20% neck lifting effect seen.

Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only procedure and will only be performed following our face-to-face medical consultation with a medical practitioner prior to botox being administered.
